As our Controller, you will build a high-performing, global accounting team to scale a fast-growing sports NFT marketplace. You will act as an influential leader who can gain trust and provide counsel to the executive team and other business leaders. You will build the Accounting processes, systems and policies to scale globally. You’ll set high standards and not be afraid to “roll up their sleeves” to get the job done.

You will report to the Chief Financial Officer and have responsibility across accounting, finance, and compliance.


  • Build and lead a growing global accounting team to support Sorare's growth
  • Develop accounting processes, systems and policies
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure full compliance with regulatory and taxation requirements
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity in the financial records and a strong internal control environment
  • Serve as the primary thought leader and resource regarding all complex accounting questions/issues, including: new contract & deal structures, new market expansion (including international expansion), and adoption of new accounting standards
  • Establish relationships across the organization to understand operational plans so that the tax, treasury, regulatory reporting, and business system strategies can support the business
  • Lead the annual audit, tax return preparation and other filings as needed
  • Provide support, advice, and counsel to the CFO, the board, management team, and other senior leaders on all financial and accounting activities
  • Oversees the accounting and financial reporting functions for any wholly owned subsidiaries

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Controller, SVP of Finance, or equivalent in a fast growing business
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or similar field required
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Public accounting, Big Four experience preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS; working knowledge of US GAAP a plus
  • Experience with ERP system implementation
  • Experience scaling and improving processes, systems, and the team during high growth in a business at scale    
  • Experience working across complex, global businesses; strong culture builder with the ability to transcend cultural and geographic differences to ensure a cohesive approach worldwide
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the organization and with senior management
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills
  • High degree of accuracy, consistency and keen attention to detail
  • Blockchain/crypto knowledge and experience a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
