Director, Media Partnerships

This person will develop our media partner strategy and manage relationships across categories, while surfacing creative ideas that drive mutual value for Coinbase and our partners. As the head of Media Partnerships, you will bring existing relationships to Coinbase while developing new long-term partnerships in the space, execute product-focused partnerships that drive revenue for the business, and work with our partners and internal teams to bring creative ideas to life. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams on execution, including BD & Partnerships, Product, Marketing & Comms, and Legal. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience and relationships across consumer focused media, be able to apply creative thinking to partnership and activation ideas, and have a passion for web3 and the future we’re building at Coinbase.


  • Develop Media Partnership strategy, prioritizing companies that speak to our core audience of crypto natives and beginners.
  • Lead negotiation and agreement structure for media partnerships across internal teams
  • Leverage partnerships to develop creative ideas and co-marketing initiatives that highlight Coinbase products and services, and provide our partners with opportunities to bring their unique ideas to fruition.  
  • Inspire teams by developing innovative, crypto-forward thinking that brings our product vision to life.
  • Oversee partner relationships through execution while supporting agency and internal teams across the organization
  • Enable the best media partner experience with Coinbase products by providing white glove service and enabling ongoing product feedback.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of trends and strategies across the media landscape and regularly communicate with internal stakeholders to inform campaign work
  • Build tools and track partner campaign effectiveness in partnership with BD & Partnerships, Product, Marketing, and Comms

Job Requirements

  • Passion for crypto and web3
  • 15+ years of experience in a partnerships, business development, or brand role at a tech, Web3, or crypto company
  • Deep network and understanding of the traditional media space and emerging trends
  • Passion for building relationships and finding creative ways of bringing product experiences to life
  • Knowledge of creative, brand marketing, and social strategy
  • Knowledge of the Coinbase platform and suite of products
  • Ability to use analytics tools that track success of campaigns and efforts and make recommendations based on quantitative analysis
  • Open and eager to experiment with new partnership ideas and tactics
